On Wednesday, the U12 basketball team faced a strong Southborough team. Hampton started the match brilliantly with a 3 pointer from Sebastian Finch, and this gave Hampton momentum, who after the first period were ahead. Both teams were great near the hoop and many of the points were scored by rebounds.
For the next few periods leading up to half time, the match was very close and both teams scored frequently. The last period before half time was dominated by Hampton, who came away with a lead amounting to around ten points.
Southborough had a few very key players and over half time, Hampton were tasked with marking them closely.
Hampton stuck to that task and kept cool heads. Ahrin Kotecha made greats runs up the pitch before passing to another player. The last period was also extremely close, but Hampton held on and secured their ten-point lead. It was a great start to the season.
