Hampton U12s Make Big Statement with Three Important Wins

By Lewie Green

On the afternoon of Friday 10th October, three united Hampton teams disembarked from the coach with a mission to accomplish against local rivals Halliford, at the opposition’s home ground.

U12As Match Report:

Hampton, after winning the toss, chose to kick to Halliford to start the match, and this immediately proved effective as they won a scrum in the opposition half. This was well earnt due to the speed of Hampton’s chase, and resulted in the first try of the half, giving the away side an advantage. This positive opening clearly lifted the team up as this was followed by a few more quickfire tries. However, credit goes to the Halliford defence as they did put up a fight in the defensive line and caused a few handling issues amongst the Hampton attack.

The second half saw a dominant performance from the visitors, who mostly nailed all aspects of the game: they were consistent at the breakdown, carried a huge threat in attack and put on a reasonable display from a defensive point of view.

Overall, this young, exciting Hampton squad earnt their win and have real potential. Have we only just seen a glimpse of what this promising side could become?
