1988 Triple crowned Hampton’s Greatest Sporting Moment after thrilling final poll

The 1988 First VIII’s stunning Triple success was anointed the victor of HSC’s Hampton’s Greatest Sporting Moments competition after a tense final vote.

The 1988 Triple’s success came eight weeks after the tournament began with the aim of democratically crowning Hampton’s Greatest Sporting Moment. The Triple eased through its group stage, winning a resounding 82 per cent of the vote, before winning the quarter-final and semi-final votes convincingly too.

HSC Editor, Josh Bartholomew, caught up with representatives from the two final moments to celebrate the conclusion of the competition.
