By Maxi Grindley

Hampton’s U18A team played out a thrilling draw with Bradfield’s First XI, which ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

After a tricky start, Hampton took the lead against the run of play, when Haris Williams emphatically finished at the back post after a swift counter-attack.

Bradfield had much of the possession for the remainder of the half, but valiant defending on Hampton’s part ensured the score remained unchanged when the halftime whistle blew and Hampton took a 1-0 lead in.

But Bradfield were reinvigorated after the break and equalised after confusion in the six yard box.

Once again though, Hampton proved their mettle to regain the lead via a powerful Milo Choudhry shot from the edge of the box to set up a thrilling finish as Hampton looked tto hold out.

As the clock wound down, though, Bradfield’s pressure paid off and they converted a penalty to ensure there would be no winner of this match.
