U12E team lose in tight game against Wilson’s School
By Jack Haynes
The Hampton U12E team played a close game against the Wilson’s School D team and eventually lost 4-3 due to a last minute winner from the opposition’s striker.
Eric Pacqvalen made the breakthrough about 10 minutes in with a fabulous drive from just outside the penalty area. However, in quick succession, Wilson’s scored three goals and suddenly Hampton were 3-1 down, despite some great saves from keeper Harry Skeffington.
At the start of the second half, Hampton won a free kick on the edge of the area and a good pass from Shanjeet Khan created Jack Haynes’ deflected goal and the Hampton team had pulled it back to 3-2.
With 15 minutes left to play, Theo Tang lofted the ball in from the right hand side and it looped over the keeper to make the scoreline 3-3. In the dying seconds of the game, the Wilson’s goalkeeper played a long ball towards the striker, who netted it with a good finish. Disappointingly, the U12E’s lost their first game of the season.
