After the goal Hampton began to dominate and play their lovely flowing football. The ball fell to Neil Menon, who struck a stunning half volley from 10 yards outside the box to belt it into the back of the net! Hampton were now fired up and attacked with even more intensity. It was not a completely one-sided game, with Papplewick having a couple of good chances, although Hampton’s defence and keeper were holding out well.

Hampton got their third as they won a free kick just outside the box. Captain and centre-back Thomas Young stepped up to take it, and effortlessly thundered it in! 3-0! Hampton then played well for the rest of the half and managed to keep their clean sheet.

Hampton started the second half strong, but Papplewick grew into the game, determined not to lose. Hampton held on with some more good chances. Papplewick then scored to pull the game back into a contest. Hampton came back from this, with Townley scoring his second, and the fourth of the match.

Papplewick had about five minutes of control which included them hitting it just over the crossbar! However, Hampton soon regained control, with many chances and a couple of near misses. The U13As finally got another, with a fantastic goal by Oscar Connell, who from the right wing hit a great shot into the roof of the net!

This settled the match for Hampton, with the rest being played out uneventfully, as they held on to their four-goal lead. The U13As played very well, and will hope to continue their strong playing form into Round 4 of ISFA in Devon!
