U12Bs Kick Off Hampton Career With Huge Win
By Mahir Olcer
In the sweltering heat, the Hampton U12B’s started their Hampton football career on Friday afternoon.
They had a very ill-starred start to the match, as their goalkeeper Al Haston was out with an illness. But thanks to Miguel Badimon stepping up last second, nobody dropped their heads as they knew this wouldn’t stop them.
Not wasting any time, the Hampton side flounced forward with a strong attack, passing the ball with ease through the defence. And as the ball ended at Henry Riley feet, he laced the ball impulsively into the goal. As the game continued, the U12B’s established a hegemony over the game.
Goal after goal, the Hampton U12B’s scored tap-ins to screamers from outside the box to set pieces from the corner kick. The half-time score was 8-0 to this blistering Hampton side. But despite the strong lead, the Hampton team was still eager to score more.
Badimon managed to net a hat-trick, Mahir Olcer curled in a beauty from near the corner flag, all while Jack Morris imposed his wall of defence. But to their credit, the Wilson’s side didn’t give up; they managed to break through the defence scoring a goal against the goalkeeper Haston.
As the game continued in the oppressive heat, the ball went from side to side, with good back tracking by Morris and Olcer clearing out from the back, before Jay Peakman caused huge problems for the opposition defence while dribbling down the wing at the top.
At the end of the fierce battling between the two sides, Hampton ended up on top winning an unapologetic score of 13-1.
