Josh King OH Scores First Senior Goal
By Alex Watson
Last week, Hampton’s very own Josh King was on target for boyhood club Fulham in the Carabao Cup, his first goal in professional football.
His clever flick into the far corner – described by Fulham boss Marco Silva as a ‘streetwise’ finish – helped the Cottagers to victory against a spirited Wycombe Wanderers side, ultimately winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

King has been a revelation for Fulham this season. After breaking into the starting eleven at the beginning of the campaign, his performances have been consistently impressive, turning him into a firm fan favourite at Craven Cottage, with Silva recently commenting that a player with his qualities is ‘hard to find’.
He’s also made his debut for the England U-21s this year, coming off the bench against Moldova before starting in a win over Andorra.
It’s been just over two years since King left Hampton to focus on a career in professional football, and his rise has been meteoric. Though he’s still searching for his first Premier League goal, having had one harshly ruled out against Chelsea earlier in the season, it seems like only a matter of time until he finds the net – and much more besides.
