Hampton U12s run rampant in Friday frenzy
By Felix Payne
On Friday, Hampton U12s played a home game against Caterham school. The first five minutes was very close, and Caterham nearly scored before Hampton took the lead with a try from Benny Bradley in the corner. Hampton gained momentum, scoring three more tries in quick succession, before Lawrence Schmidt made a great run which powered Hampton up the pitch and resulted in another try.
Caterham still posed a threat, though, namely in the form of a big, fast winger and not long before half time he scored under the posts. But Hampton did not let that trouble them and scored three more tries before the end of the half. Two of them were by Lewie Green.
And so at half time the score read as 7-1 to Hampton.
Hampton came out ready to go after half time and scored (once again) three tries in rapid time before Caterham broke through the host’s defensive line of a penalty and scored a try. Then finally, Hampton wrapped the game up beautifully with one last try from Lucas Brand. It was a great match for the hosts.
