U12Cs clinch classic victory over Dulwich

By Mahir Olcer

On 17th of January 2026 the Hampton U12Cs played their first match of 2026, and it was one of the most difficult fixtures of the calendar. As the Hampton side prepared for the upcoming match, they missed Aditya Sharma, who was replaced by the D goalkeeper, as well as Henry Lawrie, who would usually be at the heart of the match putting in the effort.

As the match started in the sharp weather, the Hampton side was vulnerable, and no one expected the big battle which was to come. The game started with the Hampton side controlling Dulwich college. As the ball went out, Jack Bason threw the ball over the defenders head and Mahir Olcer came running for the ball and battled for it down the line; as Olcer crossed in front of the defender he was one and one with goalkeeper and Olcer calmly slotted the ball to the bottom corner of the goal making it 1-0 to the Hampton side in the 5th minute.

Slowly, Dulwich college found their foot and started creating problems for the Hampton defenders, and as the increasing pressure of the Dulwich team attack overwhelmed the Hampton side, Dulwich College found the ball in the back of the Hampton net following a cross. Just minutes later a player from Dulwich College sent a rocket to the goal, devasting Hampton.

The Hampton side urgently started looking for goals, and in the last seconds of the first half, Bason sent the ball high in the air finding  Olcer’s feet; he passed the ball to Karter Escalante who put the ball away and the Hampton team went off celebrating as the half time score was 2-2. Everyone waited for the approaching second half.

As the second half began, the Hampton U12 C’s had fresh feet: cunning Cullan Dhariwal with his tricks, goal-scoring hero Will Denham, the vision of Julian Mulloy and the experience of Lenny Allen from the A’s. As the game continued with Hampton U12 C’s craving a goal, Mulloy sent the ball through the defenders, baffling them; racing behind it was Denham and without a second thought he fired the ball at the back of the net. 3-2 to Hampton.

But then as the ball went out for a corner kick the ball went high up in the air and the Dulwich College defender did a towering header; the score was 3-3. Not long after Hampton were on the attack again, and after Denham battled for the ball with tooth and nails, he managed to get away on the break and slotted the ball in. Near the end of the match, Dulwich had many goal scoring opportunities., and with 1 minute left of the match, the Dulwich attacker fired the ball at the goal, but Dorset was there to block ,it saving the Hampton U12 C’s from a draw and two points dropped. And within seconds, Dhariwal was on the ball for a counterattack; he dribbled pass the defence with adroitness and sent the ball over the goalkeeper’s head. As Dhariwal secured the win for Hampton, the final score was 5-3 to Hampton.
