Snow wreaks havoc in Hampton sporting calendar

By Josh Bartholomew

Adverse weather conditions across the South-East have affected a number of Hampton’s weekend fixtures.

The Boat Club’s showpiece rowing event – Hampton Head – was cancelled after a review of the weather forecast.

Many rugby fixtures were also postponed, with the U16 game against Whitgift on the 3G the only match to go ahead.

The footballers were more fortunate, as the 1st XI and 2nd XI’s games against Repton School and Wilson’s School respectively took place, though all other teams were forced into an unforeseen weekend off.

The rugby squads will now focus their attentions on the upcoming Sevens season with the Hampton Founder’s Day tournament in late February; their football counterparts will play a block fixture against Dr Challenor’s Grammar School next weekend.
