U17As progress in Area Cup with impressive win over RGS

By Maxi Grindley

Hampton’s U17A team progressed to the semi-final of the Area Cup with a convincing 7-0 victory over RGS Guildford.

Hampton began the game well, firmly controlling the tempo of the game, leading to an early penalty being won. Unfortunately, a fine save from the keeper ensured Shahryar Rezvani would not be on the scoresheet just yet. Despite keeping the ball well, Hampton could not convert their chances until striker Alasdair Bolling turned on the edge of the box and scored the game’s opening goal. Despite further openings for both teams, the score remained 1-0 until half time.

The second half was a far more one-sided affair, leaving Hampton comfortable winners. Denil Manuel finished the game with a hat-trick, having caused the opposition’s defence problems throughout.

Rezvani atoned for his penalty miss by slotting home a goal, while Morgan Worsfold-Gregg and Milo Choudhry also grabbed a goal each.
