U18 beat Aldenham with late Omaar winner

Aldenham 1-2 Hampton

Hampton U18 beat their Aldenham counterparts 2-1 on Saturday, despite the torrential rain. Competing as individual year-groups rather than a whole senior squad due to COVID restrictions, the U18s continued their strong start to the season.

After a nervous opening period, Hampton striker Alasdair Bolling bagged the opener with an acrobatic finish, hooking his left foot to guide the ball over the keeper.

Both teams had chances before the half-time whistle went, but ultimately the sides went into their team talks drenched and aware that the game was still up for grabs.

With ten minutes remaining, Aldenham pulled level via a cool finish slotted down the middle, ensuring the final minutes would be a tense affair.

But Hampton restored their lead seconds later after captain and ISFA U18 representative Sami Omaar guided an excellent corner into the net.

Despite pressure in the dying moments from Aldenham, Hampton managed to prevent a comeback and secured the 2-1 victory.
