U13Cs fall to narrow defeat against Ibstock B team

By Arun Crowe

The U13C team hosted just their second match of the season as they welcomed Ibstock Place to Hampton school, facing the opposition’s B team.

Hoping to pick themselves up after a heavy defeat in their previous game, Hampton kicked off with high hopes of getting all three points, however they soon found themselves trailing by two goals to nil.

Hampton, however, picked their heads up and fought back as Mohammed Ali tapped in from close range, closing the gap to just one goal. But despite dominating the rest of the first half, Ibstock got themselves a third goal just seconds before half time.

As the second half began, Hampton were dominating the match once more as they came close time and time again, with shots being saved, hitting the woodwork and going narrowly past the goal. Although their good play was finally rewarded with a well-improvised goal from Louis Harvey, they could not find an equaliser in the last five minutes and the game ended 3-2 – an unlucky defeat for the U13Cs.
