Brilliant attacking display by U12Bs hands them their fifth win from six
By Harry Morris
Goal! From the kick off, Hampton got the ball and rapidly won a corner, which was bolted into Robert Wrigglesworth, who passed it to Yule Choi who smacked it into the corner. 1-0 Hampton and the game had hardly started! Hampton dominated the possession for the next five minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net despite all the chances they had.
It wasn’t long though before Mika Rahman got the ball and curled it beautifully into the corner to make the scoreline 2-0. Although Hampton were still dominating possession, Radnor House had a couple of chances and, after a defensive error, the opposition striker made it 2-1 with a chance that he tapped in. Despite the setback, Hampton retaliated a few minutes later with two quick goals, which both came from passes by William Potter to Finn Timba, who fired them in. A fifth goal came soon after, following a great corner from Rahman, which Choi headed into the net. This left Hampton in an excellent position at the half-time break.
Half-time score: 5-1
Half-time goal scorers: Yule Choi (2), Mika Rahman, Finn Timba (2)
Half time assists: Robert Wrigglesworth, William Potter (2), Mika Rahman
The start of the second half proved a bit more even, even though Hampton were making all the chances. Nonetheless, another goal came when keeper Wilf Waterworth booted the ball up to the striker Wrigglesworth, who expertly finished a brilliant run to make the score 6-1. Hampton kept this momentum going and after another five minutes Finn Timba played a neat pass to William Potter, who shot into the corner to grab a seventh goal. A final goal arrived with a couple of minutes left, after a cross which had smacked against the post was met by Wrigglesworth’s run forward, with a header that left the keeper no chance. This 8-1 score set Hampton up nicely for their ESFA round 3 match the following week.
