U14Cs take their first victory of 2022 in style

By Joseph Gordon

Hampton’s U14C team were raring to get a win after a 2-2 draw which started 2022 off. Fulham Boys School made the trip to Hampton School for a Thursday fixture.

The game kicked off and Hampton fielded a very strong side, which dominated early on. Not long after the start, debutant Zak Hayat squared the ball to winger Henry Jackson who neatly put the ball into the back of the net to give Hampton the lead.

After some solid defending, Hampton countered and Billy Wilkinson scored the second from another Hayat assist.

Just before half-time, an exquisite long ball from Noah Kelly found Wilkinson and he produced a composed but brilliant finish. The referee called for half-time, and Hampton reflected on a very positive first half.

In the second half, both teams had some great opportunities, with Fulham Boys school hitting shots just over the bar, while the opposition ‘keeper made some outstanding saves, but, after a great pass, Hayat then completed the dream debut with a lovely chip finish.

The full time whistle blew, and Hampton thoroughly deserved the 4-0 win, with the players ecstatic over their fantastic performances.
